As my venture into this photographic world developed, I found an amazing variety of images were emerging as I explored different subjects, different waves and different light. What began as a curiosity about the reflection of a single sailboat mast and the unique set of shapes its photos would assume today, quickly grew into a dazzling array of colors and textures that at times felt overwhelming.
To bring some organization and a sense of control to this beautiful chaos, I grouped images into portfolios based on some kind of overall similarities, such as a shared type of texture, a general color scheme or some particular imaginative evocation. Below are the six current collections of images along with brief descriptions or explanations of what I think holds them together.
I hope that, as they did for me, these groupings enhance your experience as you explore Paintng With Water.
Lost MarblesThese images are full of swirling textures and rich colors that remind one of the patterns found in fine marbles and other types of decorative stone. |

Strange VacationsCalmer waters have allowed the man-made subjects of these images to stay almost recognizable while still transformed enough to seem like the constructions of some truly alien civilization. These are vacation photos from a distant planet. |
